When developing medical interventions that best meet patients’ needs, conducting patient-centered research is of increasing importance. If the life science industry can capture patients’ diagnostic journeys and understand how they navigate the healthcare system, researchers may better identify unmet needs, improve the design and conduct of clinical studies, ensure speedy or efficient regulatory review and success, and expand access to care for fully diverse and inclusive populations.
Traditional patient-centered research can include numerous but often siloed activities such as patient surveys, targeted focus groups, patient advocacy, and other community engagement opportunities, but these may still leave a gap or disconnect between traditional randomized control trials, especially if diverse or inclusive patient populations are of interest. Additionally many of these activities can place a substantial burden on the patient with perhaps little immediate benefit.
PicnicHealth is excited to participate in ISPOR 2022, THE HEOR event of year as the community explores this year’s theme “The Future of HEOR in Patient-Driven Digital Healthcare Systems”
Dr. Dan Drozd, Chief Medical Officer at PicnicHealth and Dr. Ivy Weng, Head of Clinical Development and RWE/HEOR at Komodo Health, will lead a breakout session entitled, “The Empowered Patient: Driving individual and population health with data & technology”. They will discuss challenges that stand in the way of patients owning their own health data and solutions PicnicHealth and Komodo are both building to empower individual patients to participate in medical research and life sciences companies to conduct population level studies.
Learn about our perspectives and answers to pressing questions, including:
- How can health technology companies work to protect patients’ private data?
- What motivates patients to participate?
- Can real-world data obtained virtually answer critical research questions?
Join us as we present our unique approach to bringing patient-centered real-world data and evidence to the forefront.
